Am a little bit spoilt, breakfast in bed is brought to me most days, so when the FWO is interstate I struggle…. a couple of weeks ago when the FWO was sunning it up in Darwin, I dragged myself out of bed and wandered up to Little Guildford for breakfast.
Prior to my decision on where to have breakfast, I looked up LG’s menu and decided to have either the “Avo Smash” or the “Mushrooms & Truffle with poached eggs”. Alas, once I got there I couldn’t decide which one! The very helpful waitperson said she would ask Chef if he would do half and half, which he kindly did.
The mashed avocado mixed with Danish feta accompanied by a balsamic glaze on thick sourdough toast was a hit. The creamy avocado mixed with the salty feta and sweet balsamic glaze was a combination well thought out. It was a meal on its own.
The earthy mushrooms were accompanied by pesto and gorgeous runny poached eggs – all resting on truffle oil doused sourdough toast. As you can imagine, I didn’t eat for the rest of the day!
