I caught up with a friend at the Guildford Hotel yesterday. I’ve been a few times with @perthcafeculture – and thought it would be a great place to catch up.
My friend had a vodka and soda water and I had a Rosé to start, and we settled down at a nearby table to choose our food, and for me to take my @winesandbooks photo. It was nice and sunny outside, but we thought we’d stay inside out of the breeze.
Our food arrived 10 to 15 minutes later. My friend chose the Gilly cheeseburger and I had the fried cheese burger spring rolls. I was keen to find out what they would look and taste like!
The burger consisted of a thick meat patty with melted cheese, pickles, lettuce and mayonnaise – I don’t think my friend would have needed any more food to get her through until breakfast! The fries were freshly cooked, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
My fried cheese burgers spring rolls were delicious – they tasted just like a cheese burger but without the bun. Finely minced meat with melted cheese and a sauce inside spring roll casings.
We are really spoilt for choice in and around Guildford; the Guildford Hotel, the Rose and Crown, the Stirling Arms and the Woodbridge Tavern – all within easy walking distance of my home – bit of a worry really!
