The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are presenting the “Festival Italia – wine and food” on 10 – 11 September in the wonderfully central and historic Perth Town Hall.
I missed last year’s event so am very excited to be attending Festival Italia in a couple of weeks. Wine tasting is my “forte”, however consuming food comes a close second. Mix it up with Italian wine and food and I’m in heaven!
Prosecco has become a recent favourite of mine – (thanks Meg!) – and I was delighted to receive a bottle of Salatin Prosecco Treviso to taste – from the Veneto wine region in North-eastern Italy, this sparkling is a lovely pale straw colour, delicious apple aromas, pears and green apples on the palate, an elegant dry finish with a persistent bead.
This year’s Festival Italia will give you the opportunity to taste wines from a wide variety of Italian regions, from Veneto to Sicily, Tuscany and Abruzzo. There will be many opportunities to taste the delicious Italian food and to also watch chefs in action.
While looking forward to this fabulous event in Perth – we also are thinking of the Italian people and everyone affected by the terrible earthquake.
Looking forward to attending Festival Italia and supporting our local and international Italian community. Details can be found at: http://www.festivalitalia.com.au – quality wines, delicious food, live entertainment, central location – I can’t think of a better way to spend a leisurely Saturday and Sunday in Perth.
