On our way home from lunch at Halo Restaurant, we spied Aqua Bar and climbed the stairs to have a quick look. The view was amazing so we stopped for a drink to while away the afternoon, enjoying the sunshine and the magic vista.
My choice was a glass of the Château Fontarèche Tradition Cuvee – a pretty salmon coloured Rosé, hints of strawberries on the palate and lingering dry finish – just how I like my Rosé to be! While my daughter chose the Andre Delorme NV Blanc de Blanc, from Burgundy France, this sparkling had deliciously tiny bubbles, fresh fruit flavours on the palate and a lovely dry finish.
The Aqua Bar has lots of different seating options outside, with a bar area and a more formal dining room inside. The beverage list is huge and the food options range from nibbles and share plates; to dishes including Char-grilled butterflied prawns with basil butter, Pork 3 ways; tenderloin, pulled pork, maple bacon with apple chutney, candied apple peel and crackling; and Char-grilled lamb chops, plus salads and desserts – definitely options to please most palates.
We will be back to try out the menu and enjoy a summer’s day soon.
