I grew up in a small town where you knew all your neighbours and we kids played in the street. Cars were slowed down as they turned the corner as their drivers knew there could well be a game of cricket or footy in play. Mum’s looked out for all the kids – not just their own. Sally Hepworth’s ‘the family next door’ is a real page turner. Pleasant Court is full of families- young couples with small children. A new neighbour, Isabelle moves into the street – single, no children and no apparent job or career. How does she fit in – why is she so interested in the goings on in Pleasant Court? Loved this book- can’t wait for @sallyhepworth next book!
Sipping on a glass of @lafattoriaperthhills sparkling Vermentino/Brachetto – lovely drop.
